Does Any Of The Prescribed Medication For Diabetes Cause Drowsiness?

Hi, My husband is a heart patient and a diabetic too. He has at present a haemoglobin count of 8. He feels abnormally sleepy. The medicines he takes are Omez 10 - od,Gluconorm PG-2 - BD, Flavedon MR - BD, Istamet 50mg/500mg - BD,Olemesar 20- OD,Famtac -40 - OD,Rosumac -10- night only,Nikorandil - %mg- BD,Polybion CZS - OD, Evion Q100-OD, Liveril tab BD and ERYPRO safe inj. twice a week. I would like to know if any of these medicines cause drowsiness

Hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.

Mam, None of the above mentioned drugs cause noticeable drowsiness.
The Hemoglobin level you have mentioned of 8 is too low. That can cause some sort of weakness which can shown as drowsiness.

Diabetes it self cause drowsiness. Active lifestyle with atleast 40min. of walking daily, low calorie small and frequent diet could help you a lot.

Iron containing tonics, green leafy vegetables could increase iron level in the body which could also help.
