Does Being Diabetic Impact The Pregnancy Test Result?

Hello! I have been experiencing pregnancy symptoms. such as my breasts are real tender and sore (especially my nipples), Nausea but no vomiting, burning sensation in my stomach, crampy, bloated feeling, 4 days late for my period, and a eggwhite chunky discharge.. I haven t took a test because I m scared of the results. and my husband have been trying to get pregnant for about 4 months now and no luck.. to include, I m a type 1 diabetic. I have been told my hcg levels will not show up since I m a diabetic. is this true? thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Being diabetic may increase the possibility that a woman can have yeast vaginal infection. The white discharge that you are having may be related to a yeast infection but you can do a vaginal smear to confirm it.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
