Does Bilateral Inguinal Hernia Cause Enalargement Of Abdominal Muscles?
I am a healthy 70 yo female with bilateral inguinal hernias. I have good abd. muscles, but have noticed over the last six months that they have enlarged to the size of a pear halved. I most notice them when having a BM and also at times they buldge even when I am lying flat. They compress easily but now protrude a lot. I have no sx.
Hi, From history it seems that you might be having weak and lax abdominal musculature producing enlarged abdominal size due to protrusion of intestines and mes sentry from weak muscles. Due to lax abdominal musculature there are developing bilateral inguinal hernia. Consult surgeon and get examined. Go for abdominal muscle exercise as advice by surgeon. Ok and take care.
