Does Biotin Deficiency Cause Green Discharge From Eyes?
I am a foster parent to an 8 week old boy who was diagnosed with biotinidase deficiency last week. I have an appt. for genetic testing later this month. My question is he woke up this morning with green goopy discharge in his right eye. Is this related to this biotin deficiency? He is taking 5 mg of biotin each day I am wondering is this is enough?

Hi...this is not related to Biotin deficiency. This seems like a bacterial infection of the conjunctiva of the eyes. I suggest you get in touch with a pediatric ophthalmologist as this will require antibiotic management.
