Does Bleeding After Passing Stool Indicate Sign Of Hemorrhoid?
Hi I am a 37 year old married, I have a continuous bleeding after I finished my stool excrection, and the bleeding has been existing for the last three weeks, I feel too much pain for around an hour or two afterwards. Can you please give me your comment whether this is hemorrhoid or not?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Bleeding after passing stool and lots of pain persisting for a few hours is indicating one of the following: Fissure-in-ano that is there is cut at the anal verge that causes bleeding and pain too. Prolapsing piles getting entrapped on passing stool can also cause similar problems. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a General Surgeon for per-rectal digital examination if the pain allows and ano-proctoscopy. This will give you the most definite diagnosis and a plan for management. Till then do Sitz bath in a tub with warm water. Take stool softener and laxatives to keep the stools soft. High fiber diet. Avoid foods, beverages and all the factors that instigate or enhance the problems.
