Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Blood Pressure Medication Cause Discoloration Of The Skin?
Thank Dr I have this condition of skin discoloration over the years some people said it the side effect of the blood pressure medication. I am feeling very uncomfortable with this condition. I am presently advised to use Triamcinolore cream. I have also changed my Bp medication to Losartan potassium.. Pls bail me out.
Triamcinolone is a steroid cream and should help to treat any discoloration that has occurred. If there is no improvement within two weeks, you may need to speak to your doctor about using a stronger cream. Not all blood pressure medicine would affect your skin, so hopefully, the losartan would be okay for you. Most persons do not have skin issues with this drug.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Michelle Gibson James
