Does Bone Dying Due To Lack Of Blood Supply In Left Shoulder Happen Commonly In Cardiovascular Disease ?
Hello. I am 61 years old with Cardio vascular Disease. Have had open heart by-pass and 34 stents since then. Now, I have had to have complete shoulder replacement because the lack of blood supply to the left shoulder caused the bone to die. My right arm is hurting like the left one started out. Is this common and could it be due to the heart disease?
Bone death due to low vascularity is not related to cardiac disease. It is more common with smokers and alcoholics. it is also occur if you have taken steroids for any skin disease. There are medication like alendronate which can improve blood supply. You can take this after taking opinion of your cardiovascular surgeon.
