Does Breaking Hymen Cause Extreme Bleeding And Pain?
I want to know what is to be expected when your hymen breaks. I know there is blood but how much and if I m correct there can be pain. If you compare breaking your hymen to getting a scratch of some sort on the inside of your vaginal walls what are the differences and how can you tell which one has actually occurred
Pain and bleeding after breaking of hymen differ in different women. Not every women will bleed after hymen is ruptured. Pain levels vary from discomfort to severe pain based on lubrication and force of penetration at the time of sexual intercourse. Breaking of hymen will usually cause much more discomfort than just a vaginal scratch as you have mentioned.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
