Does Brown Vaginal Spotting Indicate Implantation Bleeding?
I have been in the ortho evra patch for a year and a half and have never had any problems or spotting and I have not messed up my patch. I change it the same day every week and never forget. I have regular periods and always come on the same day, never before it after. I am supposed to start on the 15th this month. On the 7th I had brown spotting but not much. I have been randomly spotting through the 9th and then it stopped. It s just brown blood. I m not sure what it could mean. Could this be just spotting or implantation bleeding?
Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. If you are using ortho evera regularly and properly, the chances of pregnancy are almost nil. Moreover, on prolonged use of contraceptive patches, breakthrough bleeding and spotting can occur. I will suggest you to wait for the periods, if delayed then do get a urine pregnancy test done to confirm the diagnosis, as pregnancy cannot be confirmed at the point of implantation. Hope you found the answer helpful. Regards Dr Deepti Verma OBGYN
