Hello and welcome to HCM,
Leukemia leads to reduction in normal blood cells and platelets.
This reduction in normal blood cells leads to weakness and lethargy due to anemia.
Chemotherapeutic drugs are strong chemicals which slowly kill the cancerous cells and allow the normal cells to replace the diseased bone marrow.
Thus, the child will regain strength and normal activities once the normal cell population replaces the diseased bone marrow.
Till then you may allow your child to rest as much as possible.

Thanks and take care
