Does Chemotherapy Cause Pain In The Abdomen?

I had uterine cancer a stage4 had full hysterectomy but Dr couldn t get all tumors just bulky ones. I have it riddled throughout my small intestine and part of the transverse colon. I am on Chemotherapy and numbers are looking good but my stomach is still very sore. Is the cancer causing this pain? Or is Chemo working on it?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The normal cells most likely to be damaged by chemo are: (1) Blood-forming cells in the bone marrow. (2) Hair follicles. (3) Cells in the mouth, digestive tract, and reproductive system. Hence, you can get certain gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, appetite changes, constipation and diarrhea. You need to seek medical attention promptly in case any of the symptoms does not subside with supportive therapy or becomes bothersome.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ashakiran.S.
