Does Chlamydia Infection Lead To Infertility In Women?

my fiance recently got diagnosed positively with chlamydia. she said she last had sex with a man 4 years ago. i wish to know if her reproductive system is still healthy for all this while. can she still conceive given that chlamydia if untreated for a long time can cause infertility in women? thanks

Hi,

You are right chlamydia may cause pelvic inflammatory disease and potentially causing infertility. However, that's not very common and would produce many symptoms. So there is a possibility that it can cause infertility but not a common cause. So she is more likely to be fit. However, she should be properly investigated for other STDs and properly treated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
