Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My five-year-old son choked on a piece of chicken at dinner time which we thought was bone free. He gagged and spit a little bit of it up from what was in his mouth including some blood. Once I saw that it wasn t coming up and he had a look of panic on his face. I bent him over and put my finger down his throat which caused him to vomit everything from even hours ago. There seemed to be more blood than expected I m going to say about an eighth of what he threw up was red blood. More than anything that would come from a bites tongue. One minute later he seemed perfectly fine and asked for more food as if nothing had happened. An hour later I checked his saliva for any signs of blood which there are none. Is there any chance that a bone could do any damage later on? Is this something that I should take him to the emergency room to be seen for?
