Hi my name is kizzy. I have suffered from sever abdominal pain for years. My doctor said it was chronic constipation but im not sure. The pain is in my upper and lower abdomen and pain in my lower abdomen when i have a bowel movement. What do u think it is?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of chronic constipation which can occur due to many reasons and it is extremely important to find out the exact cause. Yes it can lead to severe abdominal pain as it leads to improper clearance. Need not to worry. You should take plenty of fluids and diet rich in laxatives. I would advise you to consult a physician or gastroenterologist and get examination done like complete blood count, stool examination, ultrasound scan of abdomen, colonoscopy & contrast studies. You should start treatment after complete examination. Doctor may prescribe you traditional drugs like lactulose, milk of magnesia and cremaffin or bisacodyl tablets. Drink one spoon of honey in warm water daily . This will be really helpful .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
