Does Cirrhosis Of Liver Cause Bloating, Itchy Sores On Body With Bruises On Back?
My husband was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver when he was hospitalized a couple of years ago for CHF. His stomach is huge, he has intense itching and sores on his body. His face & eyes are yellow. He has bruises and spider-like veins on his back. He quit going to the doctor because he is in denial that he has cirrhosis. What sign or signs is next?
Dear Ma'am, Hi & Welcome. I appreciate your concern for your beloved husband.
Yes, cirrhosis of liver can cause bloating, itchy sores and bruises on the body.
In addition to ascites (accumulation of fluid in abdomen), swollen feet and ankle, yellowish discoloration of the skin and the eyes, vomiting of blood or passing black colored stools, tremors, ammonia smell, altered levels of consciousness (coma) can occur.
He needs to be properly evaluated in the hospital and the complications should be treated there.
