Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
hi I usually have two cups of coffee per day. one in the morning and one at night. at night I tend to treat myself by adding a splash of spirit to my nightly drink, for instance whiskey or rum. if I continue with this weekly ritual will this have any adverse effects?
The combination is supposed to be a long-term deadly one, mostly because caffeine can nullify the toxic symptoms of alcohol which gradually causes the individual to add more and more alcohol to the drink. But please note, the effect alcohol has on your body is not cancelled out. Adding more and more alcohol makes the individual alcohol dependant and also tolerant, which in majority of cases has resulted in serious dependance and also toxic liver abnormalities.
Please avoid this combination.
Best wishes.
