Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I am 59 years old and had a stroke 11 years ago but now I am ok. I have been on concor 5plus for a very long time and now my doctor has changed the medication to concor 2.5mg + aprovel 150mg I want to know does any of these medication cause skin rash and cough
Of the prescribed medications, Aprovel (Irbesartan) seems to be causing the rash and cough. Skin rash, swollen lips or eyes, and dry cough are the common side effects of Aprovel. Which needs to be discontinued.
Concor (Bisoprolol) can cause difficulty in breathing in patients suffering from airway diseases (like asthma) but it is less likely to cause rash and cough.
You are advised to consult your treating physician to prescribe an alternate effective but a safer medication like Amlodipine or Hydrochlorthiazide to control the BP.
Hope I could answer your query. A feedback is appreciated.
