Does Consuming Alcohol Cause Any Problem After Removal Of Adenoids?
Hi, I am 11 days post-tonsillectomy and removal of adenoids. I am finally starting to have some pain relief without my pain medicine, and have been able to eat most anything with only slight pain. New Years is in 5 days and I was wondering if it would be okay to drink some alcoholic beverages. I have not had any bleeding or issues post-op, but do not want to risk it as I will be away from home and family. Thank you
As such there is no contraindication of alcohol consumption after 11 days of surgery, but it is better to avoid alcohol as it might cause vomiting due to inflammation of stomach which might lead to aspiration of food in lung. Also remember, alcohol consumption is responsible for increasing the risk of fatty liver disease, hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, certain cancers, raised blood pressure, stroke, and peptic ulcer. It also increases the risk of many family, work and social problems. So be cautious and take care. Advice 1. Avoid smoking and alcohol at least for 1 month after surgery I hope this information will help you. I will be happy if you ask another question Thank
