Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Dear Dr. Nirja, I (46 yo) had a fresh embryo transfer (the only one we had) yesterday (day 3 of egg collection). The process of IVF treatment until embryo transfer went smoothly, unfortunately I have had bad flu (fever, aching etc) for a week before egg collection. Today I still had cough (phleigm in my deep chest). I only took panadol. Can having flu and coughing a lot affect the quality of my embryo?
Having flu and coughing doesn't affect the quality of the embryo. I don't think that it will affect the baby on any way. I wish you to have a healthy pregnancy.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
