Does Cough And Troubled Breathing Indicate Reverse Sneezing?
My boxer is eating grass and coughing occasionally as though she was trying to get something out of her throat and it sounds like she is having trouble breathing. So i looked online and found that her symptoms match to "reverse sneezing" and is caused by allergies which her actions also fit under. Is this true? And if so how can i help her?
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Coughing and breathing difficulty are commonly seen with bronchitis. Bronchitis is commonly caused by viral infection and allergy. Bronchitis causes bronchospasm and this in turn causes cough, expectoration and breathlessness. So she needs inhaled bronchodilators (formoterol or salmeterol), inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) (budesonide or fluticasone) and combination of levocetrizine and montelukast (anti allergic). Don't worry, she will be alright with all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing her good health. Thanks.
