Does Crushing And Drinking Doxycycline Affect Its Effectiveness?

i was recently prescribed doxycycline and need to take it for a total of 7 days. yesterday was my 5th day and i threw up for the first time taking it after my afternoon one. i asked the nurses earlier today at upmc and they said that it’s fine and that it was still in my system and should still work the same. but i just wanted a second hand opinion and wanted to know if i needed to get another tab (or two because of the one i took that morning too)? also my biggest question is from today. since throwing up my medication last night, i think i scared myself and couldn’t swallow the pill. i already have difficulty swallowing pills but i’ve been doing good with these until today. that being said, i like to soak them in water so it can get soggy, but i kept trying and trying and it wouldn’t go down. so i cruses it up with some water and drank it. will it still work the same? will it still get rid of my infection since tomorrow is my last day of taking it?
