Could Nasal And Chest Congestions Be The Side Effects Of Doxycycline ?
Hello,
I've been taking Doxycycline for about two weeks for acne, and have had nasal and chest congestions for the past two weeks as well. Could the nasal and chest congestions be side-effects of Doxycycline? A week before starting Doxycycline I actually had a cold and I'm not sure if Doxycycline made it worse. Should I stop Doxycycline and let the cold pass, then try Doxycycline again?
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Doxycycline causes eosinophilia beside other side effects. Eosinophilia may be the cause of chest congestion and cold. In my opinion doxycycline is not responsible for cold and congestion in your case. As you mentioned that there was congestion before this treatment . So in my opinion first get a treatment of cold and congestion . Thereafter take treatment for acne. Good luck. Dr. HET
