Does Cut In Neck With A Razor Blade Cause HIV While Suffering From Conjunctivitis?
Hello.. I am 16 years old male and recently I went to barber to cut ny hair and he accidently made a cut in my neck with a razor blade. If he hadnt change the blade and the person before me had hiv, can I be infected? This happened 3 days ago and today morning I am suffering from conjunctivitis ..plzz help me I am really scared..
Nowadays everywhere they used to change a fresh blade for each customer especially advent of hiv/253657?iL=true" >AIDS and with the awareness about the same. So this chance of HIV transmission is a remote possibility. Even if it had not been changed and if we consider the previous customer was a HIV positive individual, It would have at least 10- 15 minutes interval between these two customers or the time interval between these two cuts and possible blood contact. During this interval HIV would not be able to survive in dry specimen and in atmospheric air and temperature. So the risk through this means is negligible. Earliest symptoms of HIV can occur only 4 weeks after the possible infection. So the conjunctivitis has no relation to HIV. Nothing to worry. DR S.Murugan
