Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Unprotected peno-vaginal sex with partner of unknown sexual status, is a high risk in terms of STD's including HIV.
Almost all STD's can be transmitted by unprotected peno-vaginal sexual contact including
herpes,
syphilis,
gonorrhea, chlamydia, genital warts,
molluscum and HIV.
Regarding specifically risk of acquiring HIV through minor 'cuts and nicks' , it is negligible because for HIV to gain access into the blood stream, the wound has to be fresh and actively bleed.
Fine Nicks and cuts and wounds that are already a few hours old (say 4-6 hours), are not accessible for HIV.
I would suggest that you visit a sexual health specialist for
counselling and testing.
Testing is advisable for Herpes earliest at 2 weeks; for HIV and Syphilis (VDRL) earliest at 1 month, to be repeated at again 3 months.
Regards
Always practice safe sex with a condom!
