Does Diabetes Cause Blindness And What Is The Treatment ?

my daughter has just been told she has slight changes in her eyes she has diabetes, they dont want to see her for a year and they said its nothing to worry about, she is starting to take care od her diabetes after an awful couple of years(teenagers) she is 19 iam so worried she is going blind thank you

Uncontrolled diabetes can be associated with changes occurring in the eyes. If she now able to control her blood sugars, however, it would prevent any further damage to her eyes or any other areas.

Tight control would be the key.

It is possible, if she is able to do this, there would no further issues.
