Does Diabetes In Father Cause Any Side Effects To Fetus?
Hi, i and my husband are both of 30 age and just a week back we got to know my husband is diabetic . Is it safe to plan for baby know and would it effect my child health. Is it harder to get pregnant as we have plans to proceed on it.Please also guide me how can i control my husband's type 1 diabetic, can it be reversed back again. As i want to plan for healthy pregnancy.
I have gone through your question and I understand your concern. There is no need to worry. Diabetes can be managed very effectively with a productive ad comfortable life style. There should be no reason for you to delay the baby because of your husband's diabetes. Your child will be more predisposed to acquiring diabetes, as compared to general population, in his life because of the genes he will inherit. Diabetes is not directly related to infertility. It can only cause a problem if it has been uncontrolled for very long and causing problems like nerve compression or retrograde ejaculation. Diabetes can't be reversed but managed very effectively with the help of drugs or dietary modification and for that I would recommend consulting a local physician as these drugs need to be chosen and monitored based on the glucose levels in the blood.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns. Wishing you good health.
