hello. My granny who was 86 yrs old, just few days before she expired due to diabetes . And i am worried about my younger sister who was 24 hrs with the patient. She has tackled with patient s urine and all. Do you think that we must go with blood test and all to make sure if the diabetes has transferred to her or not?
hi
dont worry about it
diabetes is not infectious disease
so its not transfer from urine, stool, air etc.
its due to high sugar level in blood
genetic factor is responsible for it
so u need not to go for test for diabetes
Hello.
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic forum.
Diabetes is never transmitted by touch or coming in contact with the body fluids. It is not a contagious disease. You rest assured that your sister will not contact the disease now. But it runs in the genes. As your granny has died of diabetes the chance of contacting the disease in both of you are same.
