Does Discontinuing NuvaRing Cause Heavy Bleeding During Periods?

I stopped using my nuva ring 6 months ago. Since then, my periods have become very crazy.... The first couple of months were heavier, but otherwise normal. Now the last 2 months they have been very heavy and lasting for a long time. I ve had my period for 14 days now. The pain is almost unbearable.

Regarding your experience with heavy painful menstrual bleeding following discontinued Nuvaring I am suggesting that you have developed the following differential diagnosis

Endometriosis
Adenomyosis
Uterine fibroid
Hormone inbalance
Coagulopathy

In view of this please do the following test
Pelvic scan
Hormone profile test
Complete blood count
Coagulation profile test

Meanwhile please see a gynecologist specialist with the results and for further clinical assessment Councelling and adequate drug prescription as well as possible re-evaluation of your contraceptive method

Please take the following
Analgesic
Multivitamin
Hematinics

Regarding if Nuvaring causes excessive bleeding yes reason it is a contraceptive and inappropriate vaginal bleeding is one of the side effects
