Hi & Welcome to HCM.
I can understand your concern.
Practin (
Cyproheptadine) is a first generation antihistamine basically used to relieve seasonal and year around allergy symptoms such as watery/itchy eyes, runny nose, and sneezing. It is also used to relieve itching and hives caused by some skin conditions. Its common side effects include drowsiness,
blurred vision, loss of coordination,
constipation, increased appetite, weight gain, thickening of mucus in the nose/throat, or dry mouth may occur. Some serious side effects may occur like mental/mood changes (e.g., unusual excitement, confusion,
hallucinations), irregular heartbeat, difficulty urinating, seizures,
abdominal pain, yellowing eyes/skin, dark urine, unusual tiredness.
Dexona (
Dexamethasone) is a corticosteroid hormone. It decreases your body's natural defensive response and reduces symptoms such as swelling and allergic-type reactions. It is also used to treat conditions such as arthritis, blood/hormone/immune system disorders, allergic reactions, certain skin and eye conditions, breathing problems, certain bowel disorders, and certain cancers. Its common side effects include
stomach upset, headache, dizziness, menstrual changes, trouble sleeping, increased appetite, or weight gain may occur.
These are some of the side effects and it is not recommended to stop taking these medications abruptly and without discussing it with your treating doctor, as it needs to be slowly tapered to avoid untoward side effects.
Hope I have answered your query.
