Does Drinking Alcohol Cause Worsening Of Delirium?
A dear friend of mine has been told by our other friend whom works in a psychiatric care facility, that he is developing delirium. This would be understandable because he had a period of time (months) that he took acid on a regular basis. His friend had a bad trip and he recently stopped. I was wondering if it was possible that him drinking alcohol could worsen the delirium, even if alcohol isn t necessarily the cause of his delirium? Thank you so much.
Hello Chronic alcohol use can cause delirium after few hours of abrupt cessation of alcohol use. And delirium caused by any other cause can be worsened by alcohol use. Regards Dr. Sushma Consultant psychiatrist
