Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I rarely drink and then only a very little; like half a wine cooler. Last night I had three shots of vodka within 40 minutes. It s very unusual for me and I m a lightweight so I was done for the night. This morning I was sick and had diarrhea. Now this afternoon I am passing only bloody mucus. I haven t eaten since last night. My question is, I have GERD, did the alcohol aggravate it? I d rather not see a doctor but do I need to?
Alcohol obviourslys aggravates GERD.you drunk vodka in which alcohol content will be 40%..it also causes erosion of esophgeal epithelium...which leads to hemoptysis & bloody diarrhea.....drink lot of water...take bland diet..... take T. pan 40mg twice daily for 1week & T.Metrogyl 500mg twice daily for 4days
