Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,

Yes, consuming coffee or any other beverage that contains calcium or other minerals can reduce the absorption of doxycycline from the gastrointestinal tract. Calcium and other minerals can bind to doxycycline in the gut, forming complexes that are not well absorbed by the body.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Diwashish Biswas, Internal Medicine Specialist
