Does Elevation In BP Level Cause Persistent Blocked Nose And Cold?
Sir. I m Jana. Age is 25. I have a severe cold for the past two weeks. But sometimes i often get my nose blocked side by side in night times. And eventually In that scene I have a bleeding on my left nose twice a week.. And i also have a min high blood pressure.. I suspect that it s because of my blood pressure.. Am i right doc???
High blood pressure does not cause nose congestion. It is very likely it is unrelated to it unless you are taking medications for nose congestion that might increase the blood pressure. Very likely you are having a viral infection or an allergic rhinitis causing the blockage and when there is congestion in the nose some bleeding can happen as well.
So to conclude: - the high blood pressure does not cause nose congestion - sometimes medications for nose congestion can cause high blood pressure, be cautious using them - very likely the nose blockage and the bleeding are due to a viral infection or allergic rhinitis.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
