This is not a questions for myself, but something I am curious about. There is an environmental superfund site in my city that has long polluted the lives of nearby residents. I have a 65 year old friend with Lupus who is a lifelong resident of a community near the site. I am told that years ago residents couldn t see across the street or hang clothes to dry because they would get dirty. Could lifelong exposure these types of pollutants, primarily air and water, have caused or triggered my friend s lupus? s
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. Lupus is autoimmune disease. It is caused by lupus antibodies. So such air or water pollutants can not cause lupus. But on chronic exposure with such pollutants, lupus can be triggered or worsen. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your friend. Thanks.
