Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Excess Calcium In The Blood Stream Cause Abdominal Bloating?
Can high calcium levels in blood cause belly bloat? It is not painful but my belly looks like I am the Pillsbury Doughboy! My clothes don t quite fit and even my back looks heavier. My endocrinologist has me on a water pill and I just started Fosomax today. Thanks!
Excess parathyroid hormone causing hyperparathyroidism is commonly associated with high serum calcium (free), high level constipation, painful bones, body weight, psychiatric manifestations and renal calculi. As the consultant has put on water pills, there is suspected fluid retention in the body from various causes. I would like to re address your issue with all reports available with you as a PDF attachment during follow up discussion for better guidelines in details on clinical grounds.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
