HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
I understand your concern.
A
urinary tract infection would be associated with some of the following symptoms : frequency and discomfort on urination, fever,
abdominal pain, change in colour or odour of the urine, blood in the urine,
nausea,
vomiting, lethargy
The infection, if confirmed , would be the reason she is going to the bathroom more often.
Your daughter does have some of these symptoms which would point to a UTI, if she is not eating as much as normal, it would cause the ketones in the urine .
Sugar is not normally seen but the blood tests results would be needed to determine if she is a diabetic, some persons have sugar in the urine but their blood sugars are normal.
Normally in a UTI the urine should show
leukocytes and nitrites.
Based on her symptoms and the fact that the office blood sugar was normal, it is more likely a UTI.
Her doctor may suggest a course of antibiotics and copious water intake.
I hope this helps
