Hello,
Classic symptoms of
fibromyalgia are muscle & joint pain associated with fatigue. However, fibromyalgia does not increase the chance of RA but people with RA may simultaneously have fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia flare ups may cause pain in the joints, back, shoulders & hands. Apart from the medications you are prescribed by your treating doctor you are suggested to take CBT (
talk therapy), massage and aromatherapy to help relieve stress and relaxation.
To stay on the safer side, get clinically examined by a GP & take blood tests(RA, CRP, ANA, ESR, anti-CCP) and imaging tests to rule out any developing RA or OA. Do stretch exercises and walking. The more you keep yourself active the better your system will work. Take
vitamin E rich food or supplements (Evion-400), once daily for 15 days. To get relief from pain, take
Naproxen or
Combiflam, one SOS when needed. Medicines are for support, not dependence.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
