Does Formula Milk Cause Constipation In Infants?

Hi doctor.i am giving infamil to my baby since the day first as i cudn provide enough milk for him.now he is taking infamil plus breasfeeding.but the thing is he is not pooping every day.it takes 2-3 days him to poop.what could be the reason.should i stop giving him formula or do i need to swtich to another formula.already i bought lectogen.but didnt try yet

Hello,

Certain brands of formula milk can cause intolerance and constipation in kids. As a first-line management, you can try lactulose drops for symptomatic relief.

You can change to another brand and see whether constipation persists or not. It constipation persists, conditions like hypothyroidism must be ruled out.
