Hello, I am 31 years old and and my husband and I have been trying to concieve for the last 3 years. Recently I went for a route visit to see my OBGYN and she said that she thought that I may have an cyst on my left ovary. I also noticed that since I got married almost 4 years ago that being intimate with my husband left a foul odor that never really went away... Help I don t know whats wrong with me, I can t seem to get pregnant also I cant seem to get rid of that smell I have used products for PH balance and it only seems to help a little.

Hello.
Thank you for contacting HCM.

I have gone through your question and it appears that you are facing two problems....one the ovarian cyst and the second being foul smell from vagina.

If I were your treating physician I would like to run some more tests such as transvaginal ultrasound to observe the size and constitution of the cyst as there are different types of cyst ranging from normal physiological cysts to abnormal growths. The treatment then depends on the final diagnosis which may be just waiting for the cyst to resolve by itself or hormonal pills or surgery.

As for the foul smell You seem to be suffering from Vaginitis. If I was your treating physician I would perform a vaginal swab culture and urine culture first of all to reach the confirm diagnosis and its type.....it may be either of three ( bacterial, fungal or trichomoniasis).
then my treatment plan would be according to the culture reports. As you have mentioned that you have already taken treatment for vaginitis, i would suggest that you now consult your gynaecologist for further treatment as excessive use of all drugs will make the causative organism resistant which will make it even harder to cure.
The treatment for recurrent infection may require medicines for a longer period of time.

Meanwhile take extra care of hygiene of genital area, wear cotton undergarments and frequents changing of tampons.

I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact HCM again if you have any concerns.
Wishing you good health.
