Does Gargling With Dettol Help To Alleviate Tooth Pain?

Hey doc I have a very painful toothache I tried every pills and mouth wash I could possibly get,but the pain is still driving me crazy,i got some information that I should Dettol to goggling my mouth but where the pain is,...Now my Question is should I daylight the Dettol with water when I want to goggling or should I use the Dettol straight as it is???? Please help Doc I m dying here.

Hi..
I can understand your concern..

But first of all I would like to tell you that Dettol should not be used for gargling as it is suitable for external use only..

Secondly if you have a toothache it can be probably due to deep decay or fractured tooth..

In either case gargling with antiseptic mouthwash will not relieve you..

You should consult a Dentist and get checked clinically along with an x ray of the tooth..

If there is deep decay in tooth then Root Canal treatment can be done to save the tooth under antibiotic and painkiller cover..

For now to relieve pain take painkillers like Ibuprofen but if pain is very severe Ketorolac or Tramadol can help..
