Does Habit Of Drooling Due To Cerebral Palsy Affect Removal Of Wisdom Tooth?

My 17 year old son has cerebral palsy and currently wears a scopolomine patch. Considering surgery for this but now he needs to have his wisdom teeth removed. Will wisdom teeth removal affect his drooling long term? Does his drooling impact the difficulty of the teeth removal or the recovery. I read that the sockets need to be kept dry. Gauze for him would be a swallowing concern. We have appt with oral surgeon on Tuesday and I want to be as informed as possible to ask all the right questions. Thanks

As per your query as your son is suffering from Cerebral Palsy and he is indicated to get his wisdom tooth removed, you need not to worry about drooling as the inside of mouth is always wet with saliva and wetness will not effect healing..
Other thing that is more of concern is that it will he difficult for an Oral Surgeon to extract his wisdom tooth due to the disease and he can be very much un -cooperative as well as can cause accidental choking as well as aspiration of cotton or other things due to lack of voluntary control.
So it will be better if the tooth is extracted under general anaesthesia after a proper clinical evaluation and if he is fit for it..
It will be easier and safer to extract the tooth under general anaesthesia if the vital signs and other parameters are found normal..
