Does Having Nuvaring Trigger The Presence Of Yeast Infection?
Started nuvaring 5 days ago. Also have taken 2 difulcan in the last 5 days for a yeast infection. Could the yeast infection not be going away because of the nuvaring? This is my first time using it. So far I hate it and want to take it out. Was it a bad idea to start the nuvaring while I had a yeast infection? Should I take it out?
When you have a fungal vaginal infection, first it has to be cured completely before inserting a Nuvaring. As you mentioned that you had taken Diflucan, your vaginal infection must have been subsided. Nuvaring doesn't cause any worsening of vaginal fungal infection. If the following symptoms like fever, foul smelling vaginal discharge, and pain in the pelvic area.
Then you need to consult your gynecologist regarding Nuvaring removal. In my opinion, you don't need to remove the Nuvaring as of now but wait to see if any symptoms appear.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
