Does Having Food Exposed To Oven Cleaner Fumes Cause Adverse Side Effects?
I cleaned my oven with oven cleaner and wiped it out with a wet cloth I thought pretty well. Then I put a chicken in the oven (only about 20 minutes afterward). I'm not 100% sure (it may be paranoia) but I think I might still smell oven cleaner fumes now. Is this dangerous? Should I risk eating/serving it?
Hello,my name is dr.Dorina Gurabardhi.I understand your concern. Oven Cleaner Poisoning may include: Breathing difficulties, if fumes of the chemical solution are inhaled. So I suggest you not to consume the food and to clean your oven another time with apple cider vinegar or baking soda, then to let it open for a couple of hours for the air to pass. Hope my answer was helpful. If you have any other question Ill be glad to help. Regards, dr.Dorina Gurabardhi
