Does Having Three Types Of Cancer Increase The Chances Of Other Cancers?

I was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Five years ago I had pancreatic cancer and last year I had endometrial cancer. I ve tested negative for gene mutations. How many people get three cancers in a life time and does this mean I m likely to get other cancers?

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your issue.

* It is very unlikely to have such multiple cancers in a single life, but I appreciate your fight against all odds.

* The possibility of newer mutations are likely in your case responsible for such occurrence, but that does not provoke that it is highly likely for future carcinoma.

Be in regular touch with your oncologist for timely evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Purva Patel, General & Family Physician
