Does Having Unprotected Sex Affect Vaginal Health?

Hi Doctor. My hubby and I have been married for 15 years now. Even though I ve had a family planning procedure done, we still use condoms. For the only reason that I feel like I get a vaginal infection every time he doesn t use a condom. Plus I hate the feeling of it coming out the next day. Am I right? Does having intercourse like that affect my vaginal health. P.s..my hubby is diabetic. But within proper control. Pl help me with these silly doubts

Hi,

Shouldn't affect vaginal health but I can see the aesthetics. Semen may have different chemicals in it mainly due to diet (like garlic) and this may also affect aesthetics.

The more common skin germs that DO affect vaginal health and ARE just on the normal skin and ARE NOT STD's like yeast and staph, probably are just from skin contact and condoms probably will NOT prevent their transmission.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
