Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Does Having Unprotected Sex Post Intake Of Postinor 2 Cause Pregnancy?
I had unprotected sex with my girlfriend and ejaculated inside her about 1 day after her ovulation date. She took postenor 2 the next day and 12 hours after.. We had unprotected sex after that and i ejaculated inside her for three days because we thought the pill last for three days inside her. Do you think she might be pregnant Doc?
Positnor-2 if taken as early as possible but within 72 hours following unprotected sex is effective up to 5 days on an average.
However, since you had unprotected sex on the most 'fertile' days of your girlfriend the efficacy of positnor-2 may not be the same as described above. In other words there might be of risk of pregnancy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
