Does Having Unprotected Sex With Missed Intake Of Pill Cause Pregnancy?

Hello, I have been using Yasminelle pills for nearly 7 years now. Yesterday it happened that I forgot to take my pill (it s day 5 in the new pack to be precise) and realised it only when I was supposed to take the next one (and thus took two at the same time). I had an intimate intercourse the night before the missed pill, should i be worried about possible pregnancy? Thank you in advance for the feedback

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Missing birth control pills as per the schedule always carries a risk of pregnancy, when you have unprotected intercourse.
Since you have missed one pill in the regular schedule and compensated for it, you need to continue its intake as per the schedule.
In any case, kindly use other modes of contraception like condoms and spermicides, in case you have intercourse, till you get your periods.
Alternately, in case it is not more than 72 hours following unprotected intercourse, you can take an emergency contraceptive pill (morning-after pill).
Kindly wait for your periods to happen. If it gets delayed by any chance, you need to take a urine pregnancy test and seek medical attention without further delay.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
