Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was recently diagnosed with a herniated disc in the region of my tailbone. The pain is now gone and most of the time everything is fine. I was constipated after taking the medicines for my back, but it went away when I quit taking the medicine. I normally have a bowel movement everyday. Not yesterday and was very constipated today. Can this herniated disc have anything to do with this problem of constipation? It is very unusual for me to experience constipation.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Varinder's Response
herniated disc has nothing to do with constipation .problem is that when person is having hernia disc he cannot strain in toilet and so develops constipation ..you should please increase your fluid intake .if it does not help then a mild laxative may be taken.
