Does High Temperature, Body Ache And Head Ache Signify Dengue?

I am going to have blood tested for dengue. Just returning from trip to the Bahamas and have been feverish since my return. 101.9 lowest 104.4 highest. Body aches, headache, joints ache especially. If I have it, once it runs its couse, do I have to worry about spreading it to my family
I live in Crested Butte, CO and we don't usually have to worry about mosquitos so much. But will I always "have" dengue?

Hello,
I have gone through your query and I can understand your concerns.

The symptoms you have mentioned are suggestive of dengue,But we can not make a diagnosis purely based on those symptoms because many diseases have similar overlapping clinical presentation.A simple viral fever to other mosquito born diseases like chikungunya have similar symptoms.
Consult a general physician and get a "dengue NS1" done to confirm the diagnosis.
As of now you can take paracetamol for pain.Drink plenty of water and watch for any bleeding manifestations because bleeding and hypo tension are serious complications of dengue.
Hope this information helps.
Wishing you good health.

Regards.
