Does High Tsh-12.6 With Normal T3 And T4 Require Medication?

Hi,

I m 23 years old man. and I ve been detected with high tsh of- 12.6. But T3 and T4 are in normal range i.e - 63.25 ng/dl and 5.90 ug/dl respectively.

I had been to doctor for some skin allergy and they had asked me to get my blood tested. Thats when I got to know about my Tsh level. I do not have any symptoms of HYPOTHYROID. Please let me know if i need to get medicated. Also let me know if it is a severe one.

Hi,

It is not severe hypothyroidism. But you need to be started on medications - thyroid hormone replacement after consulting a physician. This is a safe, cheap and effective medication. You can start the treatment and recheck thyroid function after 2 months.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
